New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Ravika Gupta is one of the designers behind KAVI KAVI, a label she defines as "glamorous, romantic, exotic and an inexpensive luxury for the contemporary woman." (The other designer is her twin, Dipika, and the two sisters launched their brand last year.) After obtaining her fashion design degree from Parsons, Ravika went on to work with Italian luxury houses like Gucci and Giorgio Armani. Here, she shows us her favorite spot in Soho for vintage Louis Vuitton trunks and more.
Eclectiques is a luxury antique and vintage shop tucked away in the heart of Soho. What I like most about this shop is that, as a fashion designer, my inspiration can come from antique furniture, lamps, vintage clothing, and accessories. The doorbell to enter the premises provides a level of prestige, and the interior of the store has a dark and somber feel lit by dim lamps. This hidden gem has the largest collection of vintage Louis Vuitton luggage in all of New York City, from the turn of the 19th century to the 20th century. They also carry rare vintage fifty- and sixty-year-old designer clothing and handbags from Christian Lacorix, Prada, Chanel, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, and other designer labels.
