Today was the VIP day of the Hermès sample sale, and the blogger Chanello reports that it was one giant bummer. In short, there are no scarves, ties, or jewelry. There are also no blankets, small leather goods, or bags—though most salegoers have already resigned to the fact that they don't need the zillion Garden Totes that always make an appearance. As far as what you can buy, it's ready-to-wear, shoes, and home goods.
Given the sale's track record in the past year, this odds of this happening weren't too astronomical. The March sale was cancelled without any explanation, save the speculation that maybe there just wasn't enough merchandise. And at the sale prior to that, there was a one-scarf only rule. In hindsight, maybe we shouldn't have been too upset about that, since now it's down to zero scarves.
