New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Here's why I'm a regular at the The London Candy Company on 94th Street and Lexington Avenue: a plethora of British sweets taking me back to my idyllic youth in London. Yes, I'm talking Flakes, Crunchies, Munchies, Lion Bars, Jelly Babies, Jelly Tots (arguably the best), Wine Gums...you name it, it's all there. It's almost as good as raiding the corner store back home. Pop in first thing for a splash of Stumptown Coffee to get your caffeine jolt going, or cool down mid-afternoon with one of Je & Jo's Brit-inspired ice cream flavors, like Pimm's Cup, and pretend you're at Wimbledon.
