It's hard to believe that almost exactly a year ago, we were lamenting the lack of good shoe-shopping options in New York City. Obviously the footwear gods were listening, because 2012 has been a banner year for shoe stores.
Uptown, Charlotte Olympia and Schutz brought sexy heels to Madison Avenue. In the Meatpacking District, Nicholas Kirkwood and the Christian Louboutin men's store added some glitz to a neighborhood already known for stilettos and and wingtips. Matt Bernson debuted in Tribeca, while Melissa and Vince Camuto thrilled their various fan bases by opening in Soho. And three major department stores—Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys, and Macy's—went head-to-head in a battle of extravagant multi-brand shoe floors.
Of course, out of all of this bounty, there can only be one winner. After the jump, let us know who you think deserves to take home the Racked Award for Best New Shoe Store of 2012.
Update: The poll is now closed.
