As the Dolce & Gabbana sample sale continues to unload leopard-print party dresses, the Armani sale in Meatpacking has chosen to focus on a different crowd: moms. Sample Sally stopped by to check it out yesterday afternoon, and reports that most of the merchandise was on the conservative side, as the sale is largely composed of blouses, blazers, and things that aren't sequined. There are, however, some pretty festive Emporio Armani bras for $20.
The pricing is pretty straightforward, though Sample Sally points out that it doesn't appear to make that much sense. For example, all tops are $99, which means that a $2,075 blouse and a $210 knit are now priced exactly the same. (That's molto bene for you.) Armani Collezione blazers are $599, skirts and pants are $99, jackets over $1,000 are now $289, and jackets under $1,000 are $149.
Giorgio Armani prices are naturally a little higher: Jeans and shorts are $149, sweaters are $199, pants and skirts are $249, dresses are $599, and jackets are $589. As for the Emporio Armani intimates, bras are $20 (or three for $50), and thongs are $5.
Sample Sally adds that a lot of the merchandise appears to be overstock from previous seasons, which may help to answer the question on whether the sale is legit or not. (It's being held at Designer Expo NYC, instead of previous venues like Soiffer Haskin and the Metropolitan Pavilion.) The sale runs through Sunday at 7pm; for more info, see the Dealfeed.
