Yesterday, the Manolo Blahnik store on 54th Street started its four-day final sale of the season. Markdowns go up to 75% off, and when we stopped by yesterday afternoon, we found plenty of spring and summer styles and sizes to go around.
The store restocks between 2pm and 3pm. We went at 4pm and waited in line for about half an hour. The store itself was not very crowded, though there was a surprising amount of men loitering around. One women in line even offered to pay a stranger if he could convince the other men in the store to clear out. Our advice is to leave your boyfriend or husband at home.
Once inside, it's fairly easy to navigate. Each shoe has a colored dot sticker indicating the price. The lowest you'll pay is $195 (blue dot), with prices ranging up through $295 (orange dot), $395 (green dot), and $495 (red dot). Alligator shoes in bright colors are also marked down from $3,990 to $1,990, if that suits your fancy. Technically, you're only allowed to buy three shoes person, but we didn't see anyone following that rule. The sale ends Thursday; hours run 10:30am to 6pm.—Kelly Marshall
