London-based accessories designer Anya Hindmarch has just signed a 12-year lease for a spot at 795 Madison Avenue. The brand, which spawned a buying frenzy with its "I Am Not a Plastic Bag" tote years ago, already has a shop nearby on East 60th Street, just a few blocks away from the new location.
We spoke with a sales associate at that location earlier this morning, who explained that it hasn't been decided whether they'll be relocating, or if there will be two Anya Hindmarch stores within a few blocks of each other. One thing's for certain though: The East 60th Street boutique will be around for at least a few months, as the new location doesn't have a tentative opening date yet.
