With Filene's gone and Daffy's soon to follow, we're grateful that Loehmann's is still around—particularly since their Chelsea store just got in a boatload of Rag & Bone womenswear. When we stopped by last week, we found more than a dozen racks of coats, blazers, skirts, tops, dresses, and pants from the fall 2011 collection on Loehmann's third floor designer area, the Back Room.
Among the outerwear highlights were the Charcoal Varsity Jacket with leather sleeves for $399.99 (originally $995), a Nude McCauley Shearling Coat for $599 (was $1,495), and a Nude McCauley Biker Jacket for $299 (from $725).
We loved the Galaxy Print Leonard Dress each time we passed it in Rag & Bone's Christopher Street shop window last year, and back then, it was $475. Now, Loehmann's has it for $299.99. We also liked the cyan Jewel Skinny Leather Jeans, which were originally $1,090 but are now $499.99. If that's more than you want to spend on pants, we spotted a selection of Wasted Lipstick Leggings for $89.99 (from $180).
Sizing is on the smaller side, but there are a fair amount of mediums and a few larger pieces as well. If you pay $25 to become a Loehmann's Insider Club Gold member, you'll get an extra 10% off all your purchases for the next year. In the case of most of the Rag & Bone stock, the card would pay for itself and then some with your first purchase. Need more convincing? While we were there, we spotted Iris Apfel stocking up on some Loehmann's goods herself.
