If you've ever attended or arranged a fashion party, you're probably well aware that the most crucial catering choices often extend beyond cocktail weenies and purée mojitos. Sometimes, the most important element isn't what is being served, but rather who is serving it. FashionIndie spoke with the brains behind PTL Staffing & Events, to find out why Anna Wintour and her chef wouldn't even think of hiring another event staffing company.
Naturally, the staff is composed largely of models and actors. Founder and former model Seth Whalen explains that he started the company "with the goal of creating jobs for my friends that could pay their bills while they were in the city pursuing their dreams." Since then, he and his buddies have booked gigs with YSL, Céline, and the Met Ball.
Interestingly enough, PTL is a Christian catering company, with the acronym standing for Praise the Lord. Whalen says that with PTL, he hopes to "show grace, mercy, and forgiveness in a city and industry that can be demeaning, ungrateful and certainly, unforgiving." What Whalen didn't say is that at one of his events, only God can judge you for partaking in too many sliders.
