The Christian Louboutin men's store just debuted in Meatpacking, narrowly making its projected August opening date. When we last checked in about a month ago, the boutique looked like it was a little bit behind schedule. However, the wait appears to have been worth it.

WWD explains that the interior of the store includes six skylights with mirrors from the Park Avenue Armory, leather panels on the floor, and diamond-panel leather walls embroidered with shoe patterns. There's also a piece of the High Line train tracks hanging over the door, and of course, the signature red carpet.

Upstairs is the Tattoo Parlor, where customers with tattoos can have digital photos taken of their ink and embroidered onto their shoes. (Those with bare skin can pick one designed by Louboutin.) He explains, "Tattoo is a modern language today, like a family crest. And this really fits the city of New York."

WWD adds that the shoe and accessories collections in the new boutique are the largest in the U.S. Unsurprisingly, the sneakers are expected to be one of the biggest draws, though other dressier styles—like the Daddy loafer and the "superembellished" pairs—are projected to do quite well, too. The store also houses a range of bags (like the Syd Shopper tote bag for $3,695, and this season's tartan and wool flannel options), along with backpacks, iPad cases, and more.

And guys: You have one finicky woman to thank for their even being a Christian Louboutin men's line. The article explains that Louboutin was approached by a French woman who asked him to make her a pair of shoes for her very large feet. He custom-created the size 13 1/2 shoes for her, but she didn't end up buying them. Instead, he passed them along to a friend who gave them to her husband. And thus, a business was born.
