Two Vitally Important Pieces of Fashion Week Cupcake News

It's nearly time for NYFW, when the industry's brightest lights converge on New York City to eat cupcakes, get blowouts, and gawk at celebrities. (Oh, and witness collections that designers have spent months sweating over, but that's sort of besides the point.) To that end, Magnolia is introducing not one but two Fashion Week cupcakes.

The first, due out on Fashion's Night Out, is a chocolate cake covered in Magnolia's classic vanilla buttercream frosting, as well as crumbles of red velvet cupcake and, as per the press release, "a dash of sparkle." It's $3.50, with one dollar from each sale going to New York City AIDS Fund.

As for the second, seen above, it's a collaboration with Swarovski pegged to their new crystal collection. That might sound like bad news for your dental health, but we're told it contains no actual crystals—just an edible gem on top. You'll be able to buy it for $4 from September 10th to 16th exclusively at the Magnolia Bakery inside Bloomingdale's on 59th Street.
