Intermix might not be replacing Billy Reid, but it sounds like it'll be opening on Bowery and Bond after all. Last week, we learned via Bowery Boogie that the trendy chain had its eye on 54 Bond Street, Reid's current home, but his reps insisted that the store wasn't moving.
Now, Bowery Boogie reports that Intermix is gunning for Steve’s on the Bowery, a bodega around the corner. According to the blog's sources, the deal for 54 Bond fell through at the last minute, so Intermix moved on to Steve's as Plan B. Employees at the bodega said they didn't know anything about the move, but EV Grieve notes that the space will be available this coming January.
