We got so many good nominations for New York City's hottest trainer that we couldn't pick just 16. Here are the final contestants; voting starts tomorrow.Photos by Bonnie Burke
They say that the best trainers are part therapist, but Rachel Shasha is the rare fitness instructor who actually has a degree in psychology. After several years teaching classes, she went back to school for a master's from USC—meaning she's qualified to deal with your issues both physical and mental. Since she studied child development, she's also developed a niche working with kids and teenagers. She's also put her expertise to work as a columnist for Woman’s Health and Fitness Magazine.
Rachel teaches classes at Equinox, but she's also a free agent offering personal services in fitness, wellness, and pre- and post-natal training. (Disclosure: Thank goodness for that, or we wouldn't have been able to include her. Equinox politely declined to participate in our trainer search since they didn't want to rank employees on their looks.) A believer in simplicity, she tells us, "You can get an amazing workout using absolutely no equipment."
