After a brief hiatus, Alexandra Jacobs went to Beacon's Closet, INA, and Fisch for the Hip for this week's consignment-themed Critical Shopper. All three stores have locations nearby, to which Jacobs explains: "The Union Square area, where Loehmann's continues to hang on by a purse strap, has become a veritable Secondhand Alley, partly because of its proximity to the fickle youth of N.Y.U.; partly, I would argue, because of the glut of Marc Jacobs boutiques in the West Village."
