New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Cleo Wade wears many hats. She's the in-house stylist at Alice + Olivia, where she works alongside designer and founder Stacey Bendet styling all the brand's creative content, from look books to ad campaigns to online videos. She also is responsible for the store's vintage components, buying all the pre-loved accessories for Bendet's shops. When she needs a little staycation, Wade heads to Katinka in the East Village.
I love Katinka in the East Village. It is the size of a high school locker but they have the best Indian-inspired everything in the city for the best price. I go for incense, dip dye skirts, and scarves, and the blanket on my bed is from here as well. If you have even a hint of a bohemian/gypsy feel to your style, I promise you will fall in love. My friends and I bought a bunch of massive scarves from Katinka the other weekend and built a tent in my apartment. It was kind of a Moonrise Kingdom moment, but with booze.· alice + olivia [Official Site]
