Trunk Show Designer Consignment, which opened in Harlem last month, aims to distinguish itself from the average cluttered, musty resale shop. To that end, the store is simple and airy, with a gleaming black floor and white walls. The racks are filled with high-end labels both classic (Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel and modern (Alexander Wang, Balmain, Rick Owens.) And the perks are numerous.
There's a rewards program for frequent customers, a layaway program for people who can't pay all at once, and a bi-monthly party for consignors featuring champagne and snacks. Also, if you buy a dress for a special event, the shop will offer free styling. Right now, it's still in soft-launch mode, but stay tuned for a grand opening later next month.
