The concept behind new Williamsburg boutique Gamine is simple: You won't find this stuff anywhere else in New York. Located on Metropolitan Avenue just west of the BQE underpass, the shop opened June 16 in the space that once housed the Metropolitan Green rotating pop-up shop.

It stocks womenswear from Iceland, Austria, and Poland, unisex gear from the Netherlands, and clothing for both genders from Spain, not to mention men's shoes handmade in Indonesia and (this is Williamsburg, after all) locally-crafted Brooklyn jewelry. Many of the collections are exclusive to the shop, and even the ones that traveled across the ocean were produced in their respective countries—rather than anonymous factories halfway around the world from the designers.
