The video team over at the Etsy blog have just posted a four-minute featurette on Jim Power, otherwise known as the Mosaic Man of the East Village. He has his own custom belt buckle shop on the site, but most New York City residents know him as the man who's adorned the city's lightposts with tile mosaics since the mid-80s.
In the video, Jim explains what it was like starting his Mosaic Trail, what happened when Giuliani decided to take down most of it down, and how he's planning to rebuild each mosaic, one lightpost at a time. Take a look at the video after the jump, or head here to shop his belt buckles.
