If Hannah from Girls ever gets fired from her job at Café Grumpy, she might be able to pick up work folding shirts at J.Crew. The retailer has its eye on a space at 247 Bedford Avenue, across the street from where Whole Foods will open in 2014.
According to The Real Deal, J.Crew is just one of the prospective tenants interested in 247 Bedford. For years, the building has housed 'Burg stalwarts The Bagel Store and Millennium Health, but its newest owners are trying to lease the 13 retail spaces to stores who can pay between $185 and $200 per square foot in rent. That includes furniture shops, restaurants, and other clothing stores, although a spokesperson for the property did add that they're willing to re-rent to The Bagel Store and Millennium Health at their new rates. Awfully nice of them, right?
