Anna has resided on East 3rd Street for nearly two decades, but the store's designer and founder Kathy Kemp recently decided to move up a few blocks to East 11th Street at First Avenue. The Cut headed over to the new, larger space and report that "the new location has a minimalist vibe and is meant to feel like the former Anna space, but less chaotic."
Upon entering, the bulk of Kemp's designs hang along the store's two adjacent walls, with a jewelry case toward the back. There's a chandelier, mannequins in ballerina-like poses, and a portrait of British actress Julie Christie on the wall. Also, there's significantly less clutter than the old store, as Kemp puts it, though that'll most likely change. "I'm sure it will get filled up in five years and be just like the old Anna, but bigger," she says. Head here for the full tour.
