At last, the renovations to the Apple store on Prince Street in Soho are finally complete. The bulk of what we know about the expansion plan is that the store is getting an additional 5,000 square feet, courtesy of the former post office next door. And, as of this past January, the gutted space looked like this.
According to an Apple email sent out to anyone who's ever had a computer meltdown and/or lost an iPhone, the new store will include a "state-of-the-art" theater for events and workshops and a larger Genius Bar. It'll also be the first Apple store in the city to include a Briefing Room, which is where you can get to know Apple's Business Team. The grand opening starts at 10am on Saturday—the temporary Greene Street store is packing it in Friday night—and the first 3,000 customers will get a free commemorative T-shirt.
