On Thursday, Saks will kick off its semi-annual Consolidation Sale. Designer ready-to-wear will be marked down up to 70% off, and shoes will be reduced up to 60% off. The sale has a tendency to hit epic proportions, but last time around, Mizhattan's report made it sound a little more so-so than so good: "Although discounts were amazing, I must say the amount of merchandise available was noticeably scarce compared to last summer. In addition, there was less diversity in the designer labels." [Mizhattan]
