Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The Ernest Alexander flagship at 98 Thompson Street will open on Friday, making this the brand's first official stand-alone store. Late last year, a pop-up shop debuted on Clinton Street, but it seems as though that's been traded in for a spot further west. Refinery29 has a sneak peek of what you can find inside, which includes the entire menswear collection, along with Alexander's own collection of knick-knacks for decoration, which may or may not include this oar.
As for the rest of the offerings, expect to find sturdy messenger bags displayed above a selection of outerwear, denim tacked to the wall, tons of button-downs, and belts, ties, and more bags displayed next to lanterns and antlers.
