There's a reason modern design mecca The Conran Shop has started taking up to 75% off display pieces and seasonal furniture: The store is preparing to close in the middle of next month. This is sad news, but it shouldn't come as a huge surprise to anyone who's been following Conran's recent history. In early 2010, the British company closed its iconic 59th Street location, which has since been taken over by T.J. Maxx. The store moved into the lower level of ABC Carpet & Home in April 2010, but without a home of its own, it was never quite the same.
The shop, which is Conran's only American location, will remain open through Sunday, July 15th. A rep from the brand tells us the company hopes to re-open in Manhattan once they find the right location.
