Pride at Rag & Bone; Ethical Shopping at Bendel's

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

WEST VILLAGE—Pride Week may have come and gone, but the Soho and West Village Rag & Bone stores are still celebrating equality, as well as the one-year anniversary of the passing of the Same-Sex Marriage Law. The stores, including the one on Christopher Street, have dressed up their windows with rainbow-flag flower displays to show their support, and in hopes that you will support the company in return. UPPER EAST SIDE—Stop by Henri Bendel on Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm to shop (and sip champagne) for a cause. Along with Francine LeFrak, the store is hosting an ethical shopping event featuring Same Sky's new jewelry collection. 100% of the net-proceeds from the sale of this jewelry, which is made by African women living with HIV/AIDs, will go to employing more of these women artisans. And, if that isn't enough, word on the street is that Miss USA 2012 will make an appearance. [RackedWire]
