The always-chic Julie Haus boutique in Soho was serene and peaceful this afternoon when we popped in to check out the sample sale. Good news: The sale is very affordable, with prices up to 75% off women's ready-to-wear. Dresses are $100, tops and shorts are $65, and skirts are $75. Coats and jackets are only $75 as well, while pants are $70 and rompers are $85. Most of the pieces are genuine samples, so they fit roughly through a size 4.

We found many items from the fall collection, as well as a lot of the designer's silky and feminine silhouettes, like a navy and nude blended tie-dye dress and a yellow and white striped dress made out of a ribbony material. There appeared to be some one-of-a-kind pieces in the mix as well, like a sequined dress with a bright red zipper down the back.

When you first walk in, a small section on the right side of the boutique is devoted to sized items complete with size labels. Items here—including J/J by Julie Haus—are priced as marked. We found a pair of dark grey wool trousers in a size two that we liked for $110, for example. Sizes here are mostly small as well, but we did find some mediums and a few things in size 8. Nearly everything in these racks costs under $130, except for some wool coats that you will find for $250.

Steal of the day: the Darwin dress is only $85, originally $425. Be sure to get one before they fly off the racks. The sale runs from 10am-7pm today, Friday, and Saturday, and Sunday from noon-6pm.
