Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
If you'd like to salivate over 100 photos of celebrities wearing custom Chanel jackets, then head to 18 Wooster Street before June 15th to catch the Little Black Jacket exhibit. Karl Lagerfeld explained to Gotham Magazine why the jacket is deserving of its own exhibition:"Every designer dreams of inventing the Chanel jacket. It's up there with jeans or the T-shirt; it is gender-neutral—that is to say, it can be womenswear or menswear."
The photographs include Sarah Jessica Parker, Joan Smalls, Yoko Ono, Daphne Guinness, Alexander Wang, and plenty more, all wearing jackets specifically designed for the shoot. For behind-the-scenes videos and photos, head to the exhibition's homepage.
