Over the weekend, the Wall Street Journal published a story about the slow and painful death of big box retail in Manhattan. Included in that was a rundown of what's happening to the former homes of stores like Borders and Filene's Basement, and most notably, who's moving into the old Borders at the Time Warner Center.
C.Wonder announced plans for a flagship in a portion of the space a few months ago, which left room for another store to be its neighbor. According to the WSJ, "multiple brokers" are saying it's going to be an H&M. Given that this isn't the first time we've heard such a rumor, it sounds like it's all very likely. Related Urban's VP wouldn't give the official yay or nay, but said the official announcement of who's moving in will be made in a few days.
