Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Competition for coastal supremacy on street style blogs is about to get crazy, because Fred Segal has just announced that it'll be opening up a store in New York sometime in the nearish future. WWD explains that the company has just sold its worldwide rights to New York-based Sandow Media, and they're looking to expand in New York, Miami, Las Vegas, and Asian and European markets. The first new store hasn't been announced yet, but they're hoping to open it early next year.

If you want to brush up on all your Fred Segal pop-culture references in preparation, WWD diligently reminds us that Reese Witherspoon, or, Elle Woods, name-drops the store in Legally Blonde. Need more? That's what its Wikipedia page is for, apparently.
