While New York women are flocking to the Manolo Blahnik blowout today, men are making their way to the Saturdays Surf sample sale. At the 19 Kenmare Street location, hip guys can't drink coffee or hang out on a sun deck like they can at the Soho store, but they can definitely stock up on their favorite surfer-inspired styles from the brand—that is, if they can get past the masses.
Conditions were already tumultuous with a chance of overflowing at 11:55am, five minutes before the sale officially began. Cut to fifteen minutes later, and there was little room to move, let alone grab some hoodies and nautical striped t-shirts. Jackets, button-downs, tanks, shorts, and trousers were all abundant, but they were also flying off the racks.
If you brave the storm, keep an eye out for items like the Strikethrough logo tee for $15, the Grant Boardshort for $30, and the Jeremiah CPO jacket for $80. Considering t-shirts normally retail for $30, swim trunks for $75 and jackets in the triple digits, these are steals. And since most of the clothing is in good condition, anything damaged is clearly marked.
By around 12:30pm, the line to pay snaked around the back of the store, while the line to enter had barely shrunk outside. Although there are no returns or try-ons, that didn't stop the influx of men of all kinds—men in suits, men with backpacks, men in specs, men with 'staches, men with tattoos, men with Afros, and men with pugs.
The sale runs Thursday, May 3rd through Sunday, May 6th, 12pm—8pm daily. Consult the dealfeed for more details.
