Express has plenty of locations around New York City, but right now it's missing out on all those Times Square tourist dollars. That could soon change, though. The Midwestern brand just signed a lease for the current home of a T.G.I. Friday's at Broadway and 46th Street. If this sounds vaguely familiar, it's because last fall the company was rumored to be leasing another Times Square restaurant location—the former ESPN Zone at 4 Times Square.
CEO Michael Weiss told reporters that the new location "will have prominent signage," according to the Wall Street Journal. Hopefully the company won't cover up the original inscription under the building's cornice, which reads, in part, "Dedicated to Beauty in Footwear." Express does, after all, sell shoes.
