Retail conquistador Michael Kors has just added another location on Madison Avenue, only a few blocks south of his 67th Street flagship. The new space, at Madison and 61st, has the distinction of being the largest Michael Kors lifestyle store in the world to date. It occupies two floors and measures 6,655 square feet, making it more than double the size of the lifestyle shop that used to sit next door.
So what's taking up all that room? Tons of accessories, including bags, shoes, glasses, and watches, as well as the MICHAEL Michael Kors collection of ready-to-wear. Kors's in-house designers have even found a way to use the airspace created by the 22 foot ceilings. A custom feature wall shows off the Kors logo in etched glass, while an 18-foot-high screen will showcase videos made by the brand.
