After a trip to the recently-renovated Ferragamo flagship, Alexandra Jacobs says she was reminded that "flamboyant celebrity gesture has long been woven into Ferragamo's history." The new store includes a mini museum, as well as "crazy only-for-the-rich things like a leather lattice jacket fastened with small X's" for $4,700. But not everything is for Tinseltown's elite. She warns that despite the makeover, shoppers should continue to "brace for the typical Fifth Avenue tourist crush." [NYT]
