Sensible shoe purveyor Cole Haan has decided to shutter its uptown store at 667 Madison Avenue. WWD reports that a rep couldn't be reached for comment on why or when, but one's things for sure—retailers are going to want that spot. The space is located on the corner of Madison and East 61st Street, just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Barneys, Hermès, and Michael Kors.

Though a good chunk of its market is above 14th Street, the closing might allow Cole Haan to really focus on roping in that younger clientele. The brand set that in motion two years ago, when it debuted its first Soho store, complete with trimmings from the Ace Hotel's design team. And this year, they even went to Coachella. Next stop: Brooklyn. Just kidding, that's not gonna happen.
