According to the Times, there's a serious faja revival happening in Queens. Fajas are basically girdles used by liposuction patients, however they're becoming quite popular among young Latinas. Y&K, a small lingerie store in Jackson Heights, sells 4,000 a year, despite the fact that some don't sound very sexy: "Most are the color of an Ace bandage and resemble body casts. Some are configured to squeeze certain areas and leave others to jiggle." [NYT]
