Zach Galifianakis Gave the Kiehl's Skeleton a Makeover

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

For those who might not have known this, Kiehl's has a mascot. It's a skeleton called Mr. Bones who, apparently, has been long overdue for a makeover. The skincare brand has enlisted the help of 13 celebrities for the task, and as a thank you, Kiehl's will donate $200,000 to their charity of choice.

Some of the participants include Zach Galifianakis, Terry Richardson, Costello Tagliapietra, Alicia Keys, and Padma Lakshmi. The NYDN previewed the skeletons last night, and report that Zach Galifianakis' is covered in old stamps, and Padma Lakshmi's has food products on it. The skeletons will be scattered throughout Kiehl's New York locations on June 2nd, so if you see a dressed up bag-of-bones in the window, now you know why.
