New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Alain Allegretti has helmed New York spots like Allegretti and the Ritz Carlton's Atelier, and he's been named the sexiest chef in NYC by our sister site Eater NY, but he's also got some fashion-world cred. When model Elettra Wiedemann launched her pop-up restaurant Goodness, Allegretti was one of the chefs she tapped to help her create the menu. He's recently decamped to Atlantic City to open Azure by Allegretti inside the new Revel Hotel, but he swears by Façonnable on Fifth Avenue.
Façonnable is my home away from home. I was born in the South of France and love their attention to both comfort and style—as it's always with a splash of color. As a chef and a generally active person, I am always on the move. Their atelier caters to my every need, with an impeccable fabric selection that makes me feel like a million bucks. Whether I'm on Fifth Avenue or in the kitchen, when I'm wearing Façonnable I feel that I'm back home, in Nice, walking along La Promenade des Anglais.· Façonnable [Official Site]
