Last week, when Betsey Johnson began the liquidation process, the Wall Street Journal reported that the bankrupt brand would keep "a handful of stores," including some in New York. Looks like the Columbus Avenue boutique won't be spared, though.
According to West Side Rag, the closing sale has already begun. Like the online sale, this one offers 20% to 50% off merchandise like floral dresses and loud printed pants. The shuttering marks a pretty big change for Columbus between 71st and 72nd: Betsey's been there for over 20 years.
