New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Bronson van Wyck is the president of Van Wyck, an environmental design and event production company that has put together lavish events like P. Diddy's 40th birthday celebration at the Plaza Hotel, the Tribeca Film Festival Dinner for Chanel, and the MTV Video Music Awards after-party for Madonna and Maverick Records.
Overbey & Dunn is a fantastic little gem in the West Village that sells vintage and antique furniture and home accessories, like old Argentinian crystal decanters and mid-century goatskin cocktail shakers and silver gilt monogrammed flasks. I focus on the bar because that is my spiritual home, but they also have lots of other stuff too. It's great to find a place in the city that has one-of-a-kind pieces with character and style, and the prices are not bad.
Do you remember the club Area? They would completely make it over every three or four weeks. I mean, top to bottom, re-do the entire look of the space. It was like a Hollywood set the way they would change it up all the time. Overbey & Dunn does the same thing. They create thematic installations with guest designers. You find new treasures every time you come back because it's completely different from month to month.· Overbey and Dunn [Facebook]
