On April 11th, 5,500 items recovered from the Titanic will go up for auction at Guernsey's on the Upper East Side. Items up for grabs include small personal effects, a bronze cherub from the grand staircase, the steering wheel stand, and a 17-ton portion of the ship's hull, which is going for $189 million. DNAinfo reports that "the buyer will have to follow certain rules to ensure the collection will be properly maintained and made available for public display." [DNAinfo]
