Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Elie Tahari sample sales are usually a pretty big mob scene, and one of our commenters confirmed that this was the case on Tuesday night, at the sale currently happening at 501 Fifth Avenue. It appears, though, that things have since died down a little. The folks behind Never Pay Retail stopped by around 5pm last night, and said that there was only a short line to get in, and that things were pretty calm inside.

Considering the discounts, that seems a little surprising. Knits start at $19, some sweaters are $29 and the rest are $49, blouses are $59, and day dresses are $99. As far as sizing goes, they explain that 6s and 8s reign supreme, but that 0s ans 2s are "quite scarce." Head here to check out the entire price list and a few photos, or better yet, swing by yourself to beat the potential mid-afternoon rush.
