A tipster wrote in this afternoon to let us know that Dior has just opened up a men's store at 133 Greene Street. We stopped by to check it out for ourselves, and sure enough, it's open—in fact, it opened today. The sales associates informed us that the Dior Homme on East 57th Street is currently closed for renovations, and as of now, it's unclear if the Greene Street store will remain open when the renovations are complete uptown.
Inside, it's your typical Dior: T-shirts and pants are stacked two at a time on the shelves, sunglasses are arranged almost methodically, and there's a jewelry and cufflink case in the back. The store also carries bags, wallets, and shoes, plus suiting and about four full racks of ready-to-wear. Right at the entrance, a flashing neon sign blinks artist Robert Montgomery's phrase: "Whenever you see the sun reflected on the window of a building it is an angel." Also, there are plenty of handsome sales associates, hanging around in suits.
