While we're speculating about Williamsburg retail mysteries, here's another one to ponder: Yesterday, British record store Rough Trade announced that they'll be opening a combined shop and music venue somewhere in the 'Burg. The space will be even larger than Rough Trade East, one of their two London venues, which was Europe's biggest record store when it opened in 2007.
This news reverberated around the music blogs yesterday, but nobody seems to know the exact location of the store, and it wasn't mentioned in Rough Trade's official press release. What we do know: They're currently hiring a manager. If that sounds like your dream job, you can get details here.
