The Post reports that Nordstrom Rack is "hotly pursuing" a new location at 1095 Sixth Avenue, and allegedly, architects are already drawing up the plans. However, all is not set in stone. According to the article, a lease has not been sent out, and a source hints that "at least one other retailer was still vying for the space."
Currently, the spot is occupied by the NFL Shop at Draft pop-up shop, which actually takes up the entire block of Sixth Avenue between 41st and 42nd Street. The Post adds: "A Nordstrom Rack signing would be a breakthrough for the fast-transforming south side of 42nd Street between Sixth Avenue and Broadway." Be careful what you wish for, Sixth Avenue—here's what 14th Street's sidewalk looked like on opening day of the Union Square location.
