Blue & Cream is set to debut an in-store photo exhibit that will pay homage to Mars Bar, the seedy East Village staple that has since seen the other end of a wrecking ball. The show, "A Tribute to Mars Bar," will be made up of images from photographer and New York native Debby Hymowitz, who, according to a wordy press release, "has captured the essence of this gritty and martyred establishment through her brilliant photos that will help carry on the Mars Bar essence, just as it should be remembered."
What's interesting here is that Blue & Cream and Mars Bar couldn't be more different if they tried. Mars Bar looked like this on the inside, and we're fairly certain its clientele didn't give a hoot about $495 sequined shorts. Similarly, Blue & Cream's shoppers probably wouldn't dare sit on one of Mars Bar's stools in a pair of Alexander Wang pants. Either way, the exhibit debuts tomorrow.
