Whole Foods has announced its plans for the landmarked historic building on its Gowanus site, and some preservationists aren't happy. The company doesn't actually own the 140-year-old Coignet Stone Company building, which sits on one corner of its property, so it plans to build around it. The new store's construction should take place just five feet from the building's walls. [Gothamist]
