Miss Cooper, one of the bunnies who lives in the Alexander Berardi store on Prince Street (and one of our all-time favorite store sidekicks), has been snatched up by two thieves dressed as cowboys. DNAinfo describes the bunny stealers as "a pair of cowboy-hat wearing thieves," and Berardi told Queerty that the couple—a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s—were always asking "probing questions about the bunnies."
According to Berardi and his business partner and brand co-founder Chris Kulukundis, the two grabbed Miss Cooper from her 3-by-5 foot pen while Kulukundis was helping a customer. The pair is reviewing the store's surveillance footage, and the theft is being investigated by the NYPD's 1st Precinct. Meanwhile, Berardi's other rabbit, Jack, is probably very lonely, and will not be in the store's display window. Berardi told Queerty: "I don’t know if it's a publicity stunt, I just want my rabbit back."
