Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Yesterday, as part of our bodega-themed Lotto Power Hour, we asked readers to come up with their own ideas for scratch-off games. The reader with the best idea gets all of our lottery winnings from Power Hour (that would be $11) plus a prize from the Racked office. There's a pair of really amazing neon bracelets that appeared recently, some great beauty samples, a bag or two—all swag we can't keep, and that we would love to share with one lucky winner.
So here's how this is going to work. The three best ideas from yesterday are listed below. You've got until 3pm to vote for your favorite, at which point we'll announce the winner. Is one of those ideas yours? Email us at tips@racked.com before 3pm with your contact information. (Honor system applies, obviously.)
1) Bodega Cat Scratch Fever: "Match the cat with treats for different prize amounts!"
2) Lotto-nista: "A new scratch-off game that allows you to win extra discounts from one of the many fashion sample sale websites. Scratch three 'Gilts' or 'RueLaLas' and win a free item under $50."
3) Match Your Scratch: "Scratch off a prize. Use social media, create a giant billboard, yell it out at grand central, whatever you need to find someone in the city that matches your prize. Bring in your match and you both win the prize you've scratched off. This is great to create something viral. Someone scratches off a mill and they will be looking!"
