High-profile Barneys fashion director Amanda Brooks has resigned, according to Women's Wear Daily. Brooks joined Barneys just a year ago as part of new CEO Mark Lee's staffing overhaul. A ubiquitous front-row figure, she helped maintain the brand's place in the spotlight while working behind the scenes to keep its visuals and merchandising on trend. She told WWD she was leaving for personal reasons:
"To be the fashion director of a store with such a unique and inspiring vision has always been a dream job," Brooks said. "I have had the pleasure of working with an incredibly talented team but have resigned to temporarily relocate to England with my husband and children in the interest of further pursuing other opportunities. It is a personal decision and I will miss working with the Barneys team."
So far, says WWD, Barneys has no immediate plans to replace her.
