Whole Foods Williamsburg isn't the only crazy Brooklyn news of the day. The same New York Post story also has an item about Sephora, which is reportedly "close to signing a lease" in the Brooklyn Municipal Building. This would be the first Sephora for Brooklyn, and it's a well-chosen location: Joralemon and Court Street, smack in between Brooklyn Heights and the Fulton Street Mall.
According to the Post, the space would be a 6,500-square-foot corner spot in the Municipal Building, the first two floors of which are being developed as the Brooklyn Heights Plaza. Over the past year, rumors have swirled about what other retail might move into the building. Marty Markowitz wants Apple or a Nordstrom, and we've also heard (debunked) gossip about H&M signing on. Let's hope this Sephora thing turns out to be true.
